La Tavolata

On Sunday the 4th of December, 60 members & family, attended our Tavolata event @ Enzo's Cucina.

We were blessed with a "Gentle Camden Breeze" all day, while protected from the sun, as our friends at Enzo's Cucina erected a marquee, for our benefit.

The food was excellent & abundant... the drinks were cold... The service amazing!

Our cars looked fantastic, as we had them parked in the foreground of the vineyard.. a true Tuscan experience.

At the conclusion of the day, we were "graced" with a few bottles of prosecco  (spread around the many remaining participants.) Just enough for a Christmas cheers. ( Thanks Leo Di Rocco)

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend. This concludes our year of "organised club events!" What a great way to conclude 2022!

IMSMC Christmas Party 2022

It's Christmas!

Sunday the 27th of November, saw 120 members, family & friends participate in our annual Christmas lunch.

Our event this year was held at Terranova on the grange in Kearns. Food & beverage was plentiful and the atmosphere was "festive!"

Our thanks goes to a number of "sponsors" of the event. Enzo & Marina Berardinelli, donated the mini Panettoni, that each member who attended received. They also donated 2 x premium quality large Panettoni, which were auctioned. Our Thanks goes to the Families Campisi, Mediati and Habibs! We raised $550 of which the Club further donated another $550, $1100 being donated to the NELUNE Foundation. https://www.thenelunefoundation.org/index.php#about .

Our thanks also goes to Frank & Josephine Roccisano ( SIDERNO PASTICCERIA) for donating the Christmas cake, which was enjoyed by all. A special mention to Domenic Scullino, owner of Terranova on the Grange, https://www.terranovaonthegrange.com.au/ who made a significant contribution ($500) to our club, which reduced the club subsidy for members & guests significantly!

It wouldn't be Christmas without a visit from Santa.... 10 of our IMSMC Children, receiving a gift from Santa.

Our raffle was a huge success. Thankyou to EVERYONE that contributed.

It's a time to celebrate all good things! We certainly did that! Thankyou every one. We look forward to 2023... more of the same (without disruption!!!)

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Concorso 2022

Sunday the 6th of November, 60 x IMSMC cars transported close to 100 IMSMCists to Brays Bay Reserve in Rhodes, for the Concorso, combined with the Alfa, Fiat & Lancia clubs of Sydney.

Upon arrival, all hands were on deck, assisting with the construction of the marquee, table, stock, trophies, & banners, which made up our stall/club information tent!

Our display looked great. Every member that presented their car, is to be commended in the manner in which they presented each car. A huge thank you to all parking and cooperating with the marshalls, reverse parking and/or as required.

This Concorso, we emphasised  that no car was issued with the Title " BEST OF CLASS." We did our best to give recognition to one car in each Class.

We had an unveiling, of a very special vehicle. Gerardo & Frances Mediati presented, for the first time, a 1957, Fiat 600 Multipla. Another Club Jewel! Gerardo explained that the car has been fully restored ( original parts) in memory of his Brother Domenic. It was quite an emotional presentation for the Mediati family. Congratulations to Gerardo & Frances.

The day gave us the opportunity to meet new members and attract more members... The vibe at our events highlights the "Family Feel" at IMSMC.

Thank you to our Judges, Tony Portelli, Vince Li Vaccari, Tony Albanese, Nat Stillone, Giovanni Melissari, Gerardo Mediati & Sam Nicotra. A REAL DIFFICULT JOB... as each of our cars are worthy of recognition!

Norton Street Festa 2022

Sunday the 30th of October saw, 55 Members participate in a presentation of 41 IMSMC cars, at the Norton Street Festa.

A GREAT day. Our stallions began to assemble on Norton street from 8am, as we were all keen to "Get the show on the road" - (get that first coffee, actually!). Each member received a coffee voucher, which entitled them to a complimentary coffee from "Grinders!" The money raised having gone to charity.

Norton street was buzzing all day. Organisers making the claim, that the 2022 festa is the biggest to date.

Always great to be part of this iconic festa. Our Prime Minister made an appearance (he got away)but our President was able to chase down our NSW Premier, Mr. Perottet and present him with an IMSMC cap, which he accepted and proudly wore it for the rest of the day.

Our Club Stall (bancarella) was well frequented and a special "THANK YOU" goes to Daniel & Christian Cipri, Carmel Losinno, Maria Losinno & Oriana De Iulio, for "manning" the stall all day.

It was wonderful to have so many club cars (historic & modern) presented on the day. They all looked amazing. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet some new members too...FINALLY, as the weather was "finally" on our side.

The Norton Street Festa is deemed to be one of our Favourite Events! We'll do that again!!!

MAKE A WISH CHARITY

On Sunday the 28th of August, 6 of our members participated in the "Make a Wish" charity event in Roseberry. As a collective, we donated $600.

Make a wish, helps "children with life limiting illnesses" fulfil a dream, by granting them a wish! The event raised over $22,000.00 on the day!

The event ran from 9am till 12 midday. Cars of all types (all very special) graced our eyes throughout the morning. Ours attracting the most attention! Before long the hours had passed and off for a quiet lunch, with reserved parking!

We are so very proud to have participated and contributed to the funds that were raised! We hope more of IMSMC members will support equivalent fund raising opportunities in the future!

We await more images from the event organisers and we will share them when available!

Ferragosto 22

Sunday morning, 21st of August 19 cars participated in our display as our contribution to the Ferragosto celebration in Five Dock.

Our meeting place was the Shell/OfficeWorks carpark on Parramatta road... One by one our participants arrived. Soon after the sweet sound of all our engines cruised down Parramatta Road, bound for 2nd Avenue. Once again, we created an immediate impact! Like bees to honey, the crowds mingled around our classics.

What a beautiful day! Sun was shining cars were gleaming and everyone smiling.

A special thank you to Nina Stillone, her niece Chloe & Caroline Portelli for helping Elissa Losinno  "man" the IMSMC stall and also to those that checked in on them throughout the day,  making sure they were fed and had a bathroom, food & drink break.

It was wonderful to see so many members we hadn't seen in a while, as they came past our display to say " Ciao!". It was also a great opportunity to meet & greet some of our new members.. Welcome to them!!

Food as always was delish and the company even better!

Shannons Eastern Creek Classic 22

Sunday the 14th of August, 35 IMSMC cars participated in the Shannon's Eastern Creek classic at The Sydney motorsport park, in Eastern Creek.

What a sight! The event began at 8am  (early arrivals) all vehicles arriving by 930am and the assembly was complete!  the colours of everyone's favourite gelato  - The IMSMC assembly was extremely evident!

The day was made up of 1800 cars of various makes and models,  Face painting, bus laps of the race circuit... music and automotive eye candy galore!!

At 11:45am, our club name could be heard over the public address system, inviting us to the marshalling area. Before long, it was on! Amazing sounds of the stallions - each very stock standard - it sounded like Maranello!

Our club was also represented in the President's concourse, by Charlie Losinno's Topolino & Mick Stivala's Giulia vehicles.. both extremely well presented. Both in tough classes! We thank them both and  congratulate Charlie - picking up the Best 1940/49 car, in its class.

A great day. Fantastic to be back after 3 years of Covid!

We'll do that again!

Western Sydney Airport Run

We heard the Cry! "The Italians are coming!"

Well, not quite! Saturday the 30th of July, 55 members and family visited the "Western Sydney Airport Exhibition Centre." What a sight! 30 Italian machines gracing the car park, with the airport construction site in the background, on a perfect winters day. Sunshine, blue sky and the colours of Italian classics in the car park!

Our group was invited into the exhibition centre, for a very informative presentation on the "Inception, current status, progress and future" of the future airport! Said to be the biggest construction project that Australia has ever undertaken! Runway one is currently under construction, 3.7Km long and 60m wide. We thank Giovanna Romeo & staff of Western Sydney Airport, for allowing us the opportunity!

After our visit, we made our way to the Luddenham Cafe'. Upon arrival, we were greeted by  owner & IMSMC member Daniel Barardinelli.  50 hungry IMSMC members (that also needed a good coffee) were catered for 100%. We thank Daniel & staff for looking after us. Great service, great food & great coffee! Each attendee received a complimentary coffee ( Thanks IMSMC) and Lino De Iulio provided a Dutch refreshment ( In-a-can) which was consumed delightfully!

A wonderful experience on a perfect Saturday.

Dakota Cafe

Sunday morning the 24th of July, 35 members with family enjoyed a morning at the Dakota Café, in North Ryde.

A special appearance by a number of Cavallini and a significant assembly of "Cavalluci" graced the carpark of the café.

Interestingly (as an early arriver), it was obvious that the Italians were in town, as the sweet buzz of high lift cams entered Waterloo Rd and decelerated into the Cafe' car park. What a WONDERFULL assembly of Italian Machinery!

Before long, our "hungry jockies" placed their order and BRUNCH, was served!

It's is great to see and hear such a great bunch of members & family, enjoying their mid morning around great cars, great food and great people! Thankyou to all in attendance and thankyou to the friendly staff of Dakota Café for their service and fine quality food!

AGM 2021/22

On Sunday the 3rd of July. our 2021-2022 Annual General meeting was held at the Strathfield Golf Club.

51 members with many partners were in attendance. Our President expressed his gratitude for the attendance (as Sydney was drenched with a third rain bomb), yet many still braved the elements to attend a very important event (required) on our club calendar. With formalities completed, we moved on to two important proceedings;

1. The committee for the forthcoming year was announced as unchanged!

2. Seven members were presented with "gifts of gratitude", including Tony Albanese, Gerardo Mediati & Nat Stillone, for their invaluable assistance in assisting many of our members while travelling on long distance events ( historic motoring brings the joy of roadside breakdowns...sometimes), but with these guys with us, we always arrive to the event and make it home, safe & sound.

Bruno Ferro & Daniel Cipri; for their time & effort in producing professional, high resolution images & videos summarising our events. Frank Rocisano, for the many "cake" contributions at our events. Tony Campisi for his HUGELY discounted "condiments" and support of many club fund raising activities. To each a HUGE THANK YOU.

At the completion of our meeting, members were offered a complimentary coffee ( Thanks IMSMC) and for many, utilised the bistro services of the Club and remained for Sunday dinner.

We look forward to the forthcoming year, enjoying diverse events and each other's company!

Pangallo 2022

On the 24-27th of June, 61 members & family participated in our Pangallo (take 3) event in Richmond Grove. ( Take 3, because covid created two postponements, but we got there!)

What a weekend... packed with family & friends, enjoying "all" the Hunter Valley has to offer.

A HUGE thank you to the people of Pangallo. The cuisine was to die for. Great tasting food (just like mum's) in abundance. Pasta, pork, sausages, salads, nibbles, more pasta and DANCING til' late on a Saturday night, in the Hunter Valley. (I should mention the glorious wine, creating the atmosfera) Good thing IMSMC organised a bus, for the safety & peace of mind of all!

Throughout various parts of the weekend, all members opted to enjoy what the Hunter Valley has to offer;  attending various eateries & venues over the weekend, with most regathering at different points ( for a meal - all together) sharing and recounting the various experiences.

A great weekend! Thank you to the members that brought various desserts... cakes, biscuits, baked treats, all very very tasty! Weekends as these offer each of us the opportunity to "relax, have a laugh and share family sentiments!"

Thank you to the large number of enthusiastic members, family & friends, that each contributed to a memorable weekend together!

We'll do it all again, soon!

A great run to Dom Panino, was organised on Sunday the 5th of June.

48 members, family & friends transformed Emily street into a scene from Piazza Navona!

A huge thank you to everyone that turned up, given the very short notice and disappointment of having cancelled a previously organised event.

Heaps of discussion, food & coffee, enjoyed by all!

A HUGE Thankyou to Dom & Staff, having kept up with the requirements of 48 Hungry Italians! Again we thank member Emanuel Ziino, for allowing us to Visit Il Magaziino ( greatly assisted by Tony Portelli).

A great drive to & from the venue, completed a very satisfying day!

Auto Italia 2022

OH What a HUGE Weekend!

Saturday the 2nd of April to Monday the 4th of April members of IMSMC enjoyed AUTO ITALIA 2022.

57 members plus family and friends, made it one of our most attended Auto Italia events to date.

Our Saturday drive began with our traditional meeting spot at Pheasants Nest where the cavalcade began onto Mackay VC rest area for our breakfast! We have many "thanks" to express,  starting with those that ensured the masses were fed! Our club sponsor " Campisi fine food & deli" the delicious array of fine meats, cheese and bread... Frank Roccisano of SIDERNO Pasticceria that donated a VERY SPECIAL cake, celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Fiat 500.

A HUGE thank you to Joe Lecce and Anthony Vecchio having "hand prepared" traditional condiments, including "green tomatoes", eggplant, pepperoni and their FAMOUS anchovies!

Our cavalcade was NOT without incident! Our 13 x Fiat 500's making the 300km trip - 1 or 2  (maybe 3 or 4) requiring some attention by our expert mechanics along the way! A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THEM. In alphabetical order: Gerardo Mediati, Nat Stillone & Tony Albanese. THANK YOU!

Our very large group were catered for as the weekend unfolded, including afternoon snacks and a  beverage at the Ostani Bar, later in the evening, onto a bus and across town to the Woden Turkish pide house.

A presentation to the Fiat 500 drivers took place. We also acknowledged the 50th anniversary of the Fiat X-19 to Rick Capolino, our "sole X-19 member! We presented Rose Cara with a gift from the club in appreciation of her hard work & achievements while serving on our committee for 8 years!

We extend our appreciation to Luciano Fabrizio and Geoff Hall of the Fiat Club of ACT - who arranged a Fiat 500 65th anniversary cavalcade through the streets of Canberra - passer's by immediately reaching for their phones, after a wave and a smile!

We had many of our club cars spread around the grounds of Queanbeyan Oval - and a very special presentation of our Fiat 500s on the main oval. Like bees to honey, the crowds immediately surrounded our display! We congratulate Michael Stivala, with his award - Best classic Fiat 500, 1969. John Di Rocco (El Presidente) was awarded out right winner of the Best vintage & veteran historic car of the day, with his Fiat 500 1960 Giardiniera!

Sunday night we had dinner at Belluci ristorante - where the good times and celebrations continued - Happy Birthday Anna Cara - Lino thanks for shouting the bubbles for the cheers and good wishes, which concluded a great weekend.!

Monday morning and the trip home began! It was "almost" uneventful - as 1 or 2(?) Fiat 500s requiring a little attention - but thankfully, nothing too serious! Again we thank our 3 expert mechanics, Gerardo, Tony & Nat!

As always, a GREAT weekend. Bring on Auto Italia 2023.

IMSMC Ball 2022

Saturday the 19th of February saw 150+ members, family & friends attended our long awaited Ball at The Conca D'Oro lounge!

OH WHAT A NIGHT! A huge effort by Elissa Losinno! Her passion, creativity and organisational skills were implemented, creating a memorable & joyful experience!

As part of our fund raising, Elissa also introduced a "Balloon purchase" with a prize in each, which far exceeded the purchase price - One lucky participant receiving a $1300, 18ct Bangle, others receiving hundreds of dollars in prizes, Kitchen aids, Salami, Prosciutto and various vouchers. A HUGE thankyou to our sponsors! Each family received a "Media Bag" which listed each sponsor in recognition of their contribution to a great night.

Another fund raising activity was a "Wine Bottle purchase" which contained the signature of Channel 7 celebrities! Thankyou to Tia Stillone for organising this cool prize!

Thank you to the Staff and management of Conca D'Oro, they ensured that our every need was satisfied. The photos speak for themselves - DJ Sal providing modern and classic tracks which kept the dance floor alive!

A great deal of laughter, discussion as many caught up, as we haven't seen each other for a long time. In these challenging (and somewhat confusing) times.  We thank everyone for participating in a GREAT NIGHT.
