On Saturday the 23rd of September, 22 IMSMCists, participated in the "SPRING OPENING" of the Mayfield gardens in Oberon.
Our day began at our meeting point at
Glenbrook information centre.
The drive up the mountain was
fantastic! The descent via Victoria pass and onto Oberon was a delight, with
the Italian stallions purring while negotiating the undulating roads! Have I mentioned
how fantastic the drive was?
Upon arrival, the "essential
goodies" were shared by all, as we then moved into the gardens. SO MUCH TO
SEE. 50 acres of manicured and cared for gardens and features.
Later that afternoon, we departed for
Bathurst... have I mentioned how fantastic the drive was?... Later that
evening, we gathered for a meal (and great company) at the Bathurst RSL - some
remaining to watch the NRL semi final on the BIG screen.
Sunday morning, after a
"filling" breakfast at the golden arches restaurant, we were homeward
bound - another fantastic drive home! (worth mentioning, I think!)
Undoubtedly, there will be more
opportunities created to "take these roads again" and visit other
parts of our back
yard, which has so much to offer!
