IMSMC Chistmas Party

On Sunday the 25th of November over 150 members family and friends attended our Christmas lunch.
The venue was Trattoria La Vigna, Camden. Proprietor and new member of IMSMC had his staff prepare a wonderful setting, with the Christmas spirit having impact the moment we walked through the doors.
The staff of La Vigna did a magnificent job, catering for all 153 members and families. A 6 course meal fit for royalty certainly made for a memorable occasion. It was also the birthday of two members of the club on the day and quite fittingly Robert Losinno organised a cake for His Mum Carmel and fiance Elissa - Happy Birthday to you both!
Our raffle was extremely well supported by all that were present (Thank you!). A special mention to the Stillone, Mediati, De Nuntis, Portelli & De Iulio families for their donation of  raffle prizes. We look forward to sampling the coffee that new sponsor "Design Roast" graciously donated to the club Raffle - Thank you Dino Brescia!
We welcomed a number of new members, their cars are wonderful examples of the passion that we share in...we'll feature these in later posts.
2012 has certainly been a very busy year. A personal thank you to the hard working committee that give up so much of their time...their efforts are "second to none"!
On behalf of the entire committee, we thank you, each member, for your involvement, passion and efforts in making our club, probably one of the most vibrant in Sydney. We wish you each, a very happy, safe & holy Christmas. We look forward to maintaining activity, passion and great friendship in 2013 with you all.
Buon Natale!

Norton St Festa 2012

On Sunday the 29th of October, 33 IMSMC cars were presented in a Static display at the Norton street festa di Leichhardt.

Once again our display created a great deal of interest with 100’s of visitors surrounding our cars at every moment of the day. The vibrant and pastel colours creating the gelato shop effect.

Wonderful to see some new members present their cars for the firt time, with Giuseppe Sette presenting his wonderful Alfa Spider, Graham Smith: Great to see “FATSO” again, Tony Artinian with his newly acquired 131 and  Peter Cartwright with his wonderful example of his 850TC Abarth. Member Danielle Sullo was questioned by the police, as he had parked in a no stopping zone. Fortunately our registrar Leo Di Rocco swiftly cleared up that “situation”.

The day unfolded with an estimated 100 000 visitors, enjoying all things Italian. Gelato, coffee “espresso” and the famous “porchetta roll” made for a memorable Breakfast “and” lunch for some!

The stories were plentiful as many “elderly visitors” reminisced of their achievements of yesteryear in exact models of our cars!

A great result ladies & gentlemen. A wonderful day in maintaining our very high profile within the Historic car fraternity!
